Kelvin O. Lim, MD, is Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota, where he previously served as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and held the Drs. T.J. and Ella M. Arneson Land Grant Chair in Human Behavior. He received a B.A. in Human Biology and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University, completed his internship and residency in psychiatry and a neuroimaging fellowship at Stanford University, and joined the University of Minnesota in 2001. He was a staff physician in the Geriatric Research Education Clinical Center at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System.
Dr. Lim’s research interest is in the use of neuroimaging approaches to identify circuit abnormalities in brain disorders such as schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury and addiction and then to use these circuits as treatment targets for noninvasive neuromodulation interventions.
He retired from the University in 2026. He founded OmniKog LLC to build software for investigators, from problems encountered in an active research program.
He is a member of the Society of Biological Psychiatry and a fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.
